Where to watch in Las Vegas

  1. Las Vegas Boulevard (the Strip), on foot — Closed to vehicles for the show (at New Year 2026: Tropicana Avenue to Spring Mountain Road, from about 6 p.m. until about 2 a.m.). Resort rooftops on and near the Strip launch the fireworks, so the show is visible along much of the boulevard.
  2. Fremont Street Experience, downtown — Last year (New Year 2026): ticketed, 21+ countdown party under the Viva Vision canopy with live music on several stages; the Plaza Hotel & Casino fired its own midnight fireworks, and gates opened at 7 p.m.
  3. Resort viewing parties and rooftops — Many Strip resorts sell viewing-party tickets (at New Year 2026, for example, Fontainebleau's Oasis Ice Rink from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.). Last year some properties opened viewing areas around 5 p.m., and most could require proof of a room key.

How Las Vegas celebrates

Las Vegas rings in the New Year with America's Party — fireworks launched from resort rooftops on and near the Strip while Las Vegas Boulevard is closed to traffic and fills with pedestrians. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) calls it a tradition that started in 2000, and projected 345,000 visitors to the city for New Year's Eve 2025.

Fireworks by Grucci produces the show, which launches simultaneously at midnight from resort rooftops that change from year to year; at New Year 2026 it ran eight minutes from ten rooftops and added 600 drones. That year the Sphere's giant Exosphere screen served as the official countdown to midnight.

Downtown, the Fremont Street Experience holds its own ticketed party under the Viva Vision canopy, with live music and a midnight fireworks show from the Plaza Hotel & Casino. Las Vegas keeps Pacific time, so midnight arrives three hours after New York.
